What kind of shop is this?

A small, trade-proud one. We work the eastern San Gabriel Valley where the basin heat starts giving way to Inland Empire summers, and we built the shop around the two things Pomona actually needs: repairing inverter ductless systems that strain in 100 F heat, and retrofitting new ones into Craftsman and Spanish-revival homes that resisted central air for a century. We are not a call-center brand with a truck in your city; we are the people who answer the phone and turn the wrench.

Why focus on Mitsubishi Electric?

Because it is what is on the wall here. Mitsubishi is the reference brand for residential ductless inverter systems, and in Pomona's pre-war housing, where there is no room for ducts, the MSZ wall head and MXZ multi-zone outdoor unit have become the default. Specializing means we know the P/E/U fault codes cold, stock the common parts, and understand the quirks of the i-see sensor on an MSZ-FS or the SMART MULTI platform on an MXZ-SM, rather than treating every brand as a stranger.

How do you price and diagnose?

We name the diagnostic fee before a truck leaves the shop, prove the fault at the board, show you the reading, and set out the repair lane next to the replace lane before a single part comes off. No mystery line items, no phoning in a worst-case compressor just to land the job. For an install we work the size from a Manual J load instead of carrying over your old tonnage, because an oversized inverter short-cycles and leaves a muggy August evening damp. What does a real diagnosis look like here?

A diagnostic case scenario (illustrative, not a specific customer): a Wilton Heights bungalow off Holt with a four-year-old MSZ-FS12NA wall head started icing the indoor coil and dripping onto the sill every afternoon once July hit. The homeowner had been told over the phone it was "probably the compressor" and quoted a replacement. On site we read a P6 freeze-protection pattern, found a filter packed with Fairplex-season dust and a partially frosted evaporator, then put gauges on it and measured low superheat consistent with a slight undercharge from a weeping flare joint at the line-set, not a dead compressor. We cleaned the coil and blower wheel, reflared and re-torqued the joint, evacuated, and weighed in the correct R-410A charge by the nameplate. The fix landed in the refrigerant-repair lane near the low hundreds rather than a four-figure compressor swap. That gap, between a phone guess and a board-and-gauge diagnosis, is the entire reason this shop exists.

Where are your limits, honestly?

We will not pretend to be the cheapest path on a unit still under Mitsubishi's parts warranty, that belongs with authorized service first, where the covered part is free. We will not patch a confirmed cracked heat exchanger or top off a refrigerant leak without fixing the joint. And we do not invent reviews, awards, or credentials.
